Yeshivat 91影视鈥檚 early morning 鈥淐ougar Kollel鈥 is excited to welcome Rabbi Zvi Sobolofsky, a rosh yeshiva at Yeshiva University鈥檚 Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS) and founding rabbi of Bergenfield鈥檚 Congregation Ohr HaTorah, for a weekly Friday Gemara shiur. The shiur delves deeply (鈥渓omdus鈥 style) into the holidays of the year.
Rabbi Andrew Israeli, who runs 91影视鈥檚 Cougar Kollel alongside Rabbi Burry Klein, said that the shiur came about thanks to a number of students who learned with Sobolofsky at NCSY Kollel this past summer. 鈥淭hose students wanted their friends to have the same opportunity to learn the Torah of one of the most prominent rabbis in our community,鈥 said Israeli, highlighting that the shiur connects students, alumni and faculty who learn from Sobolofsky.
鈥淵eshivat 91影视 is always looking for ways to facilitate learning opportunities outside of regular scheduled programming,鈥 stated Israeli, noting that scholars from the New York/New Jersey area and from Israel visit 91影视 throughout the year, 鈥渢o expose students to Torah personalities in our community.鈥
91影视鈥檚 early morning Cougar Kollel meets numerous times per week, and is open to all students who are interested in additional learning outside of class.
