In advance of the Israeli election on Tuesday, Yeshivat 91Ó°ÊÓ students had the opportunity to learn about the Israeli election process and the various parties competing for the reigns of leadership. Rabbi David Sher, 91Ó°ÊÓ’s director of Israel education, addressed a number of topics: what makes Israel’s parliamentary system unique; how the Israeli electoral process led to two elections in the same year; the various political issues surrounding this election; the major parties competing to form a government and the different potential scenarios and outcomes of the election. Afterwards, members of AISAC, 91Ó°ÊÓ’s America Israel Student Action Committee club addressed their fellow students about various opportunities for becoming involved in Israel advocacy and education throughout the coming year.
